Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that occurs in the mesothelial cells of various organs, usually the lungs and less in heart and abdominal šupljine.Simptomi that may appear essentially depends on the development of mesothelioma cancer. Since cancerous cells grow from the lining of organs in the bodies' tissues, the function of that organ is affected first. In the later stages of the disease, symptoms are more generalized as the disease spreads to more parts of the body (metastasis ).
Pleural mesothelioma
pleura related to the cell lining of the lungs. In simple terms, the pleura is a sac that protects the lungs from external shocks and by friction with the other organs. It also secretes a fluid that lubricates the movement of vital lung to prevent damage to the lung surface. Pleural mesothelioma refers to the development of cancer cells in the pleura. When pleural mesothelioma begins a series of small white nodules appear on the surface of the pleura. These coalesce to form crust, which compresses the lungs. It is also expanding outside of the chest and ribs.
, however, the early symptoms are not severe enough to cause alarm delay diagnosis, resulting in difficult circumstances. Inflammation of the lungs and the presence of cancer cells and their agents (eg, asbestos fibers), resulting in increased production of liquid pleura. This is known as pleural effusion. Excess fluid in the lungs result in symptoms such as:
* Cough
* Wheezing
* Shortness of breath
Hoarseness *
There May also be a pain in the chest due to increased pressure on the diaphragm and lungs as a result of pleural effusion and collapse of tissue in cancer cells.
Peritoneal mesothelioma
the presence of cancerous cells in the peritoneum (the lining around the stomach and the stomach), may have different effects depending on the location tumora.Najčešći symptoms are:
* Unexplained weight loss
* fever
* Increased abdominal volume
* Distention of the abdomen
Presence of fluid in the abdomen
* fever
* Weight loss
* Loss of appetite
* anemia
* Fatigue
* Bowel obstruction
In the later stages of the disease, the number of platelets in the blood increases significantly, resulting in greater coagulation.
Pericardial mesothelioma
With the development of cancer of the pericardium (cell lining that surrounds the heart), the symptoms are very similar to other heart conditions, pericardial mesothelioma is difficult to diagnose. Most symptoms are due to accumulation of fluid in the pericardium resulted in a
* pant
* pant ...
* murmurs
* Cough
* Difficulty in breathing
As can be seen in all three cases of mesothelioma, the symptoms are very unspecific. In other words, the disease has no specific symptom of their own. Most of its symptoms can be confounded with symptoms of other diseases (including some relatively common diseases such as influenza in the case of pleural mesothelioma). Therefore, the diagnosis of mesothelioma is very difficult.
